Zion is finally happening! I found the perfect venue, close to all the area has to offer but secluded for quiet, uninterrupted down-time. I’m excited to co-lead this retreat with Jaime Robbins, who is a fellow yoga teacher, phenomenal cook, and a dear friend. Join us for 5 days of yoga, food and community in one of our country’s most exquisite natural wonders.
THE REGION
“An oasis amidst the desert. The Virgin River cuts through the sandstone on her journey home, taking with her rocks and pebbles, widening and reshaping the canyons that define Zion. The intensity of the colors—the vivid ruby of the rocks, the clear sapphire of the sky, the emerald of the grass—make Zion National Park a treasure of the West.” Located in southwest Utah, Zion National parking is famous for its 2000ft deep canyon, with soaring red-pink-cream cliffs. The Virgin River runs through the park with waterfalls, and lush hanging gardens. Get an intimate experience with this natural wonder with hiking, swimming and canyoneering.
THE ACCOMMODATIONS
With rich, wide-open views, our private retreat venue is a journey and a destination. Thoughtfully designed suites and cabins, in harmony with nature, are surrounded by the beauty of Zion National Park in Springdale, Utah. This beautiful property gives you the comfort of a true sanctuary space. It is located 5 minutes from the park entrance, close to restaurants and shopping, but far enough off the road for privacy and solitude.
THE YOGA
Yoga will take place in a gorgeous studio on site with a beautiful view of the natural surroundings. The studio is fully stocked with mats and props. Jaime and I will both be teaching yoga throughout our extended weekend together. Morning practice will be slow-flow, strong and deep, intuitive and intelligent. Each class will build on each other with time for mediation, pranayama and posture lessons. Evening classes will be focused on relaxation and soothing our tired legs. There will be breath-work, restorative yoga, a sprinkling of deep-stretches and a guided deep relaxation.
THE FOOD
If you’ve been on one of Jaime’s retreats in the past, then you already know you’re in for a treat! Jaime creates nourishing and healthy meals that are full of satisfying flavor. Each day, we’ll offer a light pre-yoga breakfast, followed by a big lazy post-practice brunch. You can grab homemade trail snacks as you head out for the day’s adventures. Once we land back at the retreat center, we’ll come together for a relaxed communal dinner. All meals will be dairy and gluten free. Please let us know if you have any food allergies.
THE ADVENTURES
We’re excited to have another dear friend with us too! Lauren Holliman is an avid outdoors-woman. She travels the world ‘sending’ (that’s rock-climber speak for getting to the top) climbs that would probably keep you awake at night. Lauren will be planning out hikes and canyoneering options for different intensities.
